In Destination ImagiNation, two to seven-member teams focus on finding solutions to two separate types of Challenges: Team Challenges and Instant Challenges.  By working together to develop solutions, participants push the limits of their imaginations to better themselves.  DI can be found in all 50 states and more than 40 countries around the world.

What is it?

Destination ImagiNation is not really a program; it’s a process. Team members engage in creativity, creative problem solving and teamwork by performing DI Challenges – otherwise known as practice drills for the challenges of real life! Participants will develop life-long skills they can carry over into everyday life. Above all, they will have fun, discover talents they never knew they had, make new friends, and reap the rewards of teamwork as they grow and learn. They will see their own potential in action.

Destination ImagiNation helps kids develop a unique critical-thinking skill set by emphasizing:

  • Creativity
  • Teamwork
  • Problem Solving
  • Knowledge Application
  • Collaboration
  • Generating & Focusing Tools
  • Presentation Skills
  • Project Management
  • Confidence
  • Time Management
  • Research Skills
  • Creative & Critical Thinking Skills
  • Improvisational Skills
  • Budgeting Skills

Volunteers needed?

Destination ImagiNation needs YOU!  Unfortunately, DI did not have a Chairperson or Co-Chairs, this past school year, so the children were not able to participate in this wonderful experience.

How much time does it take?

Responsibilities for the Chairperson include recruiting participants, parent coaches and judges, coordinate paperwork, determine teams, and generate publicity and enthusiasm for DI at Lincoln.  Program runs from approximately December through March.

Please consider reading more about this interesting and imaginative program at their Website.  They also have a local Illinois Website with even more information.
