What is it?The Lincoln PTA compiles and publishes an annual Lincoln School Directory. The Directory is a bound hard copy directory that lists each Lincoln family who chooses to be listed in the Directory. In order to be listed in the Directory, the Directory form must be completed and turned in each year. Inclusion in the Directory is not automatic-we must have your permission annually to list your family. The Directory includes the following: - Family Last Name, Parent(s) First Names
- Address
- Phone
- Mobile Phone (Optional)
- E-Mail Address (Optional)
- Child(ren) First Name, Grade and Room Number
The Directory also includes useful information like the Lincoln Staff Listing, Classroom Coordinators, and PTA Committee Chairs. When is it?Work on the Directory begins in the Summer months as the Membership and Directory forms are turned in for the new school year. Most of the data entry and review take place during August and September. Once all Directory forms have been received, the Directory is then sent to the printer. The Directory is scheduled to be completed and distributed by October 1st. Volunteers needed?Chairperson and/or Co-Chairs: Need a person who has highly accurate data input, and another person to do detailed proofreading of the document. Accuracy is key. Responsibilities include working with the Membership Committee and Treasurer to ensure all Directory forms are received and input accurately. Procure bids from printers for the cost of printing the directory. Work with the printer to ensure the Directory is completed in a timely fashion. Gather volunteers to distribute the Directories at school. How much time does it take?The Directory Chair needs to be available during mid-August and September to receive forms, review them and input them into the Directory database. It requires a fair number of hours during these months, but they are all done from home, and at your convenience. The Chair also needs another set of eyes to proofread the forms against the data input to ensure accuracy. It is helpful once the Directories are printed to gather a group of volunteers for several hours in order to prepare the Directories for distribution. Once the Directories are distributed, you're free to enjoy the rest of the school year!!
