Helping At School PDF  | Print |

When you think back to your own childhood, one of the key things that the PTA probably did was coordinate parents to help out at school.  Well that tradition is still alive and kicking!  All of these Committees are a vital link between home and school.  The staff and students at Lincoln school need the strong support of all of these Committees.

Below is a listing with a brief synopsis of each of the Committees that help out at Lincoln School and in the classrooms.  For a full description of each Committee, please link to them from the drop down menu at the top of this page.

Art and Music Discovery

Parents direct a music or art session in their child’s classroom.  All materials are provided.

Health and Safety

Plans, promotes and supports programs and activities related to health and school safety.

Major events are the Walk to School campaign and Vision and Hearing Screening.

Hospitality

The committee hosts several functions throughout the year – for PTA families, teachers and school events.

Room Coordinator

The PTA provides each classroom teacher with a Room Coordinator volunteer.

The Room Reps work with the teachers to plan for volunteer opportunities needed to support classroom functions and activities (like field trips, parties, etc.).

Parent Patrol

Parents are needed for a short time before and after school to cross students at the school intersections.

You can volunteer a few days, a week, or month at a time.  Very flexible.

Teacher Appreciation

Plans, promotes and organizes events during Teacher Appreciation Week (held in the Spring).

Welcome Committee

Hosts functions and activities to welcome new students and families to Lincoln.
