The term "Executive Committee" is used when referring to the elected officers of the PTA.  The number of officers and their specific duties are stated in our bylaws.

In general, the duties of the officers of our Executive Committee include:

  • Being familiar with parliamentary procedure; local, council, state and national bylaws; and national and state publications and resources.
  • Perform all the duties of their office as outlined in our bylaws.
  • Attend all meetings possible (local, council, district, regional, state, and national as applicable).
  • Make reports promptly, as required, and file annual reports as part of the records of our PTA.
  • Answer correspondence/phone calls/e-mails promptly, and keep complete records of such.
  • Maintain a procedure book and transfer it along with all records, reports, and other materials proptly to succeeding officers.
